Free shuttle bus to new Gateshead College campus at Baltic.

Story added: Friday 11 January 2008
Students and staff are being offered a free shuttle bus to the new Gateshead College campus at Baltic by operator Go North East.

The 93/94 The Loop buses from Gateshead Interchange will offer free travel to the new campus from January 14 for two weeks. Buses are free between 8am and 9am fro the Interchange, and from 3pm to 4.30pm from the college.

From January 27 The Loop buses will run every 10 minutes Monday to Friday peak time services will be increased to operate every 10 minutes between the new Gateshead College Baltic Campus and Team Valley South End. This will significantly improve access to these two important sites from Gateshead with no need to consult a timetable at busy times.

Monday to Friday evening services between 1800 and 2200 will be increased to operate every 15 minutes between Gateshead Interchange and the new Gateshead College Baltic Campus to improve access to the college for evening courses.

On the rest of the route The Loop buses will run every 20 minutes at peak times, every 15 minutes off peak and every 30 minutes during evenings and Sundays.

Go North East is launching a new brand to the service to enable customers to identify their bus more easily. This will have a black base with gold lettering and has been achieved in partnership with our partners at Access Team Valley and Gateshead College.

As a result of increased frequency, Loop buses will depart from stand C in Gateshead Interchange and to simplify things, journeys on service 193 will be withdrawn.

To celebrate the launch of the new service between 27 January and 2 February 2008 passengers can travel all day on services 93 and 94 for £2. This will give customers a chance to see the benefits of the new service at a bargain price.
